 Volker Klemm, founder of the Old Heidelberg German Restaurant, had a dream and a vision to open his own place long before its doors opened.
The Old Heidelberg certainly fills a need in the area and beyond and guests don’t hesitate to travel from far away to experience this Old World Charmer with its fine German cuisine, all imported beers and wines, some of which are coming directly from Dunja’s hometown Kiedrich, nestled among the vineyards of one of Germany’s finest Riesling wines, in the Rheingau region of Germany.

Back by popular demand...OLD HEIDELBERG OKTOBERFEST under the large tent (for the 5th time), September 12, 13 and 14, 2008. The weekend will kick off on Friday September 12th at 4 PM. The event will feature our famous Oktoberfest Beer from Munich, Oktoberfest- Hax’n, Brats, Brezel, German Store with lots of German goodies and more!

Eating in? All of our dishes can be ordered to go, including our complete lunch and dinner menu, desserts and breads. Order ahead so your meal is ready to pick up when you arrive.

We will be closed every third Monday of each month after a festival for cleaning and restocking
Reservations will be accepted on weeknights for groups of 8 or more. We will also continue to accept reservations for special parties, which need to be arranged by calling the restaurant directly at (203) 797-1860.
Don't forget our new Corporate Lunch special which is now a part of our daily lunch menu. This is an inclusive luncheon special which Chef Uwe promises will not only satisfy your hunger but can be served in a timely fashion!
