What others say about Old Heidelberg
Dear Dunja,
I just wanted to let you know how much our group of former Frankfurt (Germany) residents enjoyed our dinner there last week. All of us were teachers at Frankfurt American Junior High School in the 1970’s, and some of us had not been back to Germany in over 30 years. Much as we would have liked to have held our reunion back in our old neighborhood, that wasn’t possible, so we opted to come to Old Heidelberg Restaurant instead. (Since the members of the group came from Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, Michigan, Rhode Island, Iowa and Connecticut, we can confirm your claim that “guests don’t hesitate to come from far away.”)
Everybody agreed that for the couple of hours we were there, for all the world we were back in Frankfurt. From the menu to the beer to the Gasthaus ambience – to include the universalStammtisch -- the Old Heidelberg could not be more authentic. Your entrees brought back fond memories and your wait staff could not have been nicer or more attentive.
In fact, as it turned out, we were so carried away by the moment that afterwards we spent a few minutes standing by the side of the road expecting a Strassenbahn to pick us up -- until we remembered where we were.
Thanks for a wonderful evening! Mark Scanlon Norwalk

We are in need of some toys for our toy area next to the Beergarten. If you have some outdoor toys at home you no longer need please consider donating them to us so that your kids can be entertained while you are entertained!! The play area has become a popular addition to the beergarten but with so much usage the toys wont last as long as at home!
Playing on and with all toys is the responsibility of the parents of the children at their own risk. No liability is accepted for any injuries should they occur by the Old Heidelberg!
