Dunja Klemm The Restaurant Owner
Dunja Klemm, was recently honored by becoming a member of the Who’s Who Registry for the most accomplished Business Women Nationwide.
Old Heidelberg German Restaurant & Biergarten, Bethel, CT.
Born and raised in one of Germany’s finest areas surrounded by Riesling vineyards, the once former “Wineprincess” Dunja Klemm has taken the helm of the Old Heidelberg German Restaurant & Biergarten in the spring of 2007 after her husband’s untimely and sudden death.
It was Dunja’s goal to take over and continue her husband’s legacy. The Old Heidelberg is as successful as ever and has become a family business with loyal staff supporting and leading this authentic German Restaurant into the next era.
Dunja Klemm is not only a mother of 4 but a business woman who belongs to the younger generation of Germans, growing up with certain traditions that she held on to and which she is able to implement into her lifestyle and her Restaurant.
The Old Heidelberg certainly fills a need in the area and beyond and guests don’t hesitate to travel from far away to experience this Old World Charmer with its fine German cuisine, all imported beers and wines, some of which are coming directly from Dunja’s hometown Kiedrich, nestled among the vineyards of one of Germany’s finest Riesling wines, in the Rheingau region of Germany.
Not only patrons but Dunja Klemm herself loves the Old Heidelberg Biergarten set by a large tree to offer shade and hours of relaxation and entertainment, enjoying one or several of the many varieties of German beers and wines on the menu. There is a kid’s play area which makes staying a little longer at the Old Heidelberg Biergarten so easy for parents. The inside of the Old Heidelberg offers a cozy atmosphere with warm wooden floors, walls and tables, colorful German tablecloths and décor. Upon entering one cannot help but feel welcome and this feeling makes guests come back for more time after time!
